US Blocks UN Ceasefire in Gaza

On June 4th, 2025, the United States stopped a vote at the United Nations. This vote was about demanding an immediate, permanent ceasefire (a stop to the fighting) in Gaza.
Even though almost all other countries on the UN Security Council, including close US friends like the UK and France, wanted this resolution to pass, the US said no.
Because of the US's decision, the resolution didn't go through. This means the US continued to protect Israel from the UN's demands, even as many civilians are dying in Gaza.
