Tropical Grasslands are regions where grasses are the dominant vegetation and trees are few or scattered. These areas experience warm temperatures throughout the year, and rainfall occurs during a particular season rather than being evenly distributed year-round.
Main characteristics of tropical grasslands:
* The climate is generally warm.
* Rainfall is moderate but not evenly distributed throughout the year.
* The grasses can be tall and dense.
* Trees are found in small numbers and are usually scattered.
Some of the world’s well-known tropical grasslands include:
* Savanna — found mainly in Africa.
* Campos — located in parts of South America.
* Llanos — found especially in Venezuela and Colombia.
These grasslands are home to animals such as lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, and many species of deer.
