Today, June 5, 2025, is World Environment Day.
It is observed annually on June 5th and is the United Nations' principal vehicle for encouraging worldwide awareness and action for the protection of our environment.
The theme for World Environment Day 2025 is "Beat Plastic Pollution". The Republic of Korea is hosting the global celebrations this year. The aim is to raise awareness about the pervasive and harmful impacts of plastic waste on ecosystems, wildlife, and human health, and to drive momentum for solutions like refusing, reducing, reusing, recycling, and rethinking plastics use.
