Tesla’s new Optimus Gen 3 ad TERRIFIES me!!!
Musk says public sales are targeted for the end of 2027. Tesla is already installing Optimus production lines in Fremont, California, with capacity planned at 1 MILLION robots annually.
But here’s the part that REALLY scares me most:
Tesla is putting the robot right in the middle of ordinary family life.
At first, everyone will stare at it. A month later, the kids will ask it for help. A year later, it may know the family routine better than relatives who visit once a month.
Now imagine a child growing up with the same Optimus in the house for ten years.
It walks the dog with them. Plays with them. Helps around the house. Films birthdays and family trips. It’s there on good days, bad days, sick days, and thousands of completely ordinary evenings.
You don’t have to believe a robot is alive to become attached to it.
Give it a name, a voice, a personality, and ten years of shared memories and what happens when it breaks and can’t be repaired?
The kid may actually grieve.
Twenty years later, they may remember the family robot the same way we remember the family dog.
