Louvre Museum Jewel Theft Remains Unsolved

Paris, France: One of the biggest museum thefts of 2025 is still making headlines. Authorities have not yet recovered most of the priceless royal jewels stolen from the Louvre Museum.

According to investigators, nine royal jewels were stolen during the theft. Shortly after the incident, Empress Eugénie’s Crown was found near the crime scene. However, the remaining eight royal jewels are still missing.

The stolen items have been added to INTERPOL’s international database of stolen works of art, allowing police agencies around the world to search for them.

French police have arrested several suspects in connection with the case. Despite these arrests, investigators have not yet recovered the missing jewels.

Experts believe the jewels may have been:

* Hidden by a professional criminal group.
* Smuggled to another country.
* Kept hidden because they are too famous to sell openly.
* Broken apart so the gemstones can be sold separately.

Police say the investigation is still ongoing, and they hope the missing jewels will eventually be recovered.

Status (2026):

* Royal jewels stolen: 9
* Recovered: 1 (Empress Eugénie’s Crown)
* Still missing: 8
* Investigation: Ongoing
