Who Was Satyendra Nath Bose?
Satyendra Nath Bose was a famous Indian physicist. In 1924, he developed a new way to explain how light particles, called photons, behave.
Albert Einstein recognized the importance of Bose’s work, translated it into German, and expanded the theory. Their work led to Bose–Einstein statistics and the prediction of the Bose–Einstein Condensate, a new state of matter that was first created in a laboratory in 1995.
Because of Bose’s important contribution, all particles with integer spin are called bosons. These include the photon, gluon, W boson, Z boson, and the famous Higgs boson.
