Biohybrid Electronics: When Living Systems Meet Technology

Scientists are developing a new generation of technology called biohybrid electronics, which combines electronic devices with living biological systems.

Unlike traditional computers and electronic devices that operate only through silicon, metals, and electrical circuits, biohybrid systems can interact with living cells, tissues, and biological signals.

For example, researchers are exploring technologies that can detect signals from neurons, muscles, and other biological systems and convert them into electronic information. In the future, such systems could potentially allow electronics to respond directly to changes occurring inside living organisms.

A New Type of Human–Machine Interaction

Biohybrid electronics could transform how humans interact with technology. Instead of relying only on keyboards, touchscreens, or conventional sensors, future devices might communicate with the body through biological signals.
