But this raises a serious question:
If a company has enough money, can it simply pay billions to settle allegations and move forward—while the underlying concerns about children’s safety remain?
Where is the accountability?
Where is the protection for children?
And if money can resolve such serious allegations, does the law provide equal protection to children—or does wealth give powerful companies a different standard of justice?
If the goal is truly to protect children, is a multibillion-dollar settlement enough?
