These are real NASA images showing dry ice (frozen carbon dioxide) on Mars.
Mars has seasonal polar caps made partly of dry ice. In winter, carbon dioxide from the atmosphere freezes onto the surface, and in warmer seasons it turns directly back into gas (sublimation).
