For those who don’t know, babies can have a surprisingly strong grip, and the reason they sometimes don’t let go of things is that they have limited control over their muscles. It is somewhat similar to a muscle spasm—you may not know exactly when it will happen or how strong it will be.
Think about it: babies are still developing the brain–muscle coordination needed to consciously control their movements. As a result, they may sometimes struggle to control their own bodies, even when they want to release or move something they are holding.😅
