The United Nations (UN) is one of the most important international organizations in modern history. It was created with a simple but powerful goal: to prevent another devastating world war and promote peace, cooperation, and human rights among nations.
🌍 How Was the United Nations Created?
The United Nations was officially established on 24 October 1945, shortly after the end of the Second World War. The war had caused enormous destruction, millions of deaths, and suffering across the world.
World leaders recognized that countries needed a permanent international organization where they could discuss conflicts, cooperate on global problems, and work together to prevent future wars.
The UN Charter had been signed earlier, on 26 June 1945, in San Francisco, United States. It officially came into force on 24 October 1945, marking the birth of the United Nations.

Over the decades, the United Nations has grown from its original 51 member states to 193 member states today.

The organization also plays a major role in addressing global challenges that no single country can solve alone.
