🌱 India’s Environmental Spending
In India’s 2025–26 Union Budget, around ₹3,413 crore was allocated to the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change.
The money supports forest conservation, wildlife protection, biodiversity, pollution control, climate-change programmes, and environmental management.
However, ₹3,413 crore is not India’s total environmental spending. Additional funds are spent by state governments and other ministries on areas such as renewable energy, water management, sanitation, and pollution control.
Overall, environmental spending is an important investment in protecting India’s air, water, forests, wildlife, and climate.
