India is one of the leading sources of sensational, half-true, and misleading videos, including content with clickbait titles, false claims, and exaggerated news stories in YouTube.

According to YouTube's official Community Guidelines Enforcement Reports (Google Transparency Report), India consistently ranks among the top countries for the number of videos removed. In recent data (such as January–March 2024), around 2.6 million videos originating from India were removed, which was significantly higher than the number removed from most other countries.
