These smart glasses are equipped with cameras, microphones, and speakers. Users can say “Hey Meta” to ask questions, take photos and videos, make calls, and listen to music. Their goal is to provide a more convenient hands-free experience for everyday use.

Many users appreciated the convenience of using AI without needing their hands. However, some features have also generated discussion and criticism. One feature that drew particular attention is “Conversation Focus.” This feature is designed to help users hear a person’s voice more clearly in noisy environments such as restaurants, parties, or crowded places.
The controversy mainly centered on usage limits and a possible subscription model. According to reports, free users were limited to approximately three hours of Conversation Focus usage per month. Discussions also emerged around a Meta One Premium subscription for extended access. Critics questioned whether additional charges were justified if much of the feature’s processing takes place directly on the device rather than relying heavily on cloud services.
Meta, however, stated that the main AI features of the glasses are not being removed and that most users are unlikely to exceed the free usage limits.
