1. Tooth Regeneration Research (Human Trials Approaching)
• Japan, 2023: Scientists at Kitano Hospital and Kyoto University are preparing human clinical trials (2024–2025) for a drug that may regrow teeth.
• 🧪 The drug targets a gene called USAG-1, which suppresses tooth development. Blocking this gene in mice and ferrets led to the growth of new teeth.
• ✅ If successful, it may help people with:
• Congenital tooth agenesis (born with missing teeth),
• Tooth loss due to injury or decay.
