Was Dhamma Asok already a Buddha follower or conquered in Kalinga War as an emperor!
The question of which king of Kalinga fought with Ashoka is historically interesting and suspicious - but the direct answer is that the name of that king is not found in any authentic historical source. What is the reason for this?
1. The inscriptions of Ashoka only mention that he invaded Kalinga and a large number of people were killed or captive, but the king or ruler is not named.
2. The name of Kalinga King of that time is not found in Buddhist texts, Jain texts or Puranas. 3.
