Trump Responds to Musk's Criticism
On Thursday night around 9:35 PM, reporters asked Donald Trump about Elon Musk's criticism of his "Big Beautiful Bill" (which was a tax and spending bill).
Trump replied that he's always liked Elon Musk and believes Musk hasn't actually said anything negative about him personally. Trump then joked that he'd prefer Musk criticize him rather than the bill, because he thinks the bill is "fantastic" and represents the biggest tax cut in U.S. history.
Trump then explained that he believes Musk was fully aware of the bill and had no issues with it at first. According to Trump, Musk only developed a problem with the bill when he found out it would mean cutting the Electric Vehicle (EV) mandate, which costs a lot of money.
Trump said he understands Musk's perspective but is very disappointed because Musk knew all the details of the bill and never complained before. Trump claims Musk's opinion only changed after he was no longer part of Trump's administration, and Trump feels he helped Musk a great deal.
