🌍 How oxygen is formed on earth?
1. Photosynthesis) This is the most important process by which oxygen is formed on the earth.
📌 Who does?
• Plants
• Algae - Especially subtle algae living in the sea which are called phytoplankton.
• Cyanobacteria-Blue-green bacteria that can photosynthesis.
📌 How does the process take place?
Plants have a green substance called chlorophyll, which catches sunlight.
🔬 chemical equation: Carbon dioxide water sunlight → glucose (sugar) oxygen
🌿 What happens in this process?
• The plant takes carbon dioxide from the air.
• Water comes from soil through roots.
• Sunlight falls on the leaves.
• The leaves mix these three and make "Glucose".
• Oxygen exits like a "bipode". 🌊 Oxygen from seas: Phytoplankton's contribution
✅ What are Phytoplankton?
• These are very microscopic algae.
• Live in superficial water above the sea.
• They also perform photosynthesis. How many oxygen do the oceans make?
• According to scientists, 50% to 80% oxygen comes from oceans.
• This is a very important and invisible source.
🧫 Cyanobacteria (blue-green algae)
• They are first considered to be oxygen -producing creatures on earth.
• Billions of years ago, he changed the atmosphere of the earth - which made it possible for life.
• Cyanobacteria still make oxygen in lakes, rivers and sea.
📉 What happens at night?
• In the day: Plants photosynthesis and make oxygen.
• At night: There is no sun, so plants breathe (Respiration) - ie take oxygen and leave co₂. But the amount of oxygen made during the day is much higher than night consumption. Use of oxygen
• Human beings, animals, birds, insects - all need oxygen to breathe.
• Oxygen is used in the body to burn food, which makes energy.
• This process is called Cellular Respiration. Cellular Respiration equation:
🔁 Oxygen Cycle
1. Plants and algae make oxygen.
2. Organisms use oxygen.
3. Use plants again to the co₂ emanating from organisms.
4. This cycle goes on - from which life remains balanced.
✅ Conclusion
• Oxygen on Earth originates mainly from photosynthesis.
• Plants, algae and cyanobacteria do this.
• Ocean is the largest oxygen producing area in the world.
• It is a biological cycle - in which every organism contributes.
