IDFC First Bank disclosed a suspected ₹590 crore fraud at its Chandigarh branch over the weekend (detected around February 20–21, 2026). The fraud involved unauthorized/fraudulent transactions (including forged cheques) in accounts linked to the Haryana state government, due to collusion between some bank employees and external parties.
