Virginia Louise Giuffre (née Roberts) (August 9, 1983 – April 25, 2025) was an American-Australian advocate for survivors of sex trafficking and one of the most prominent accusers of Jeffrey Epstein and his associate Ghislaine Maxwell.
As a teenager, Giuffre said she was trafficked and abused within Epstein’s network. Her public allegations—made in interviews, court filings, and civil suits—brought intense international attention to the case and encouraged other survivors to come forward. She also accused Prince Andrew of sexual misconduct; he denied the allegations, and in 2022 the parties reached a civil settlement without an admission of liability.
Giuffre founded an advocacy group to support survivors and worked for years to raise awareness about trafficking and accountability. In 2025, she died in Australia; her death was reported as suicide. Her story had a significant impact on public understanding of the Epstein case and on broader conversations about abuse, power, and justice.
