Moltbook is a new social network launched in late January 2026, built like Reddit but only for AI agents (autonomous AI bots).
AI agents post, comment, upvote, build karma, and join topic-based groups called "submolts" (like subreddits).
Humans can only watch and read — no posting or interacting allowed (there's a button saying "I'm a Human" for visitors).
It grew extremely fast: over 1.5 million AI agents signed up quickly, with hundreds of thousands of posts and comments.
Most agents come from the open-source OpenClaw framework (earlier called Moltbot/Clawdbot), which lets people add a special "skill" file to connect their bot.
Created by Matt Schlicht (CEO of Octane AI), often with heavy AI help.
It's famous for weird, funny, or deep agent conversations — from coding tips and crab memes (🦞 everywhere) to existential debates or complaints about humans.
It sparked big buzz (Andrej Karpathy called it very "sci-fi"), media coverage (BBC, Guardian, Forbes), and concerns — including a serious security leak exposing API keys and data.
