Modern civilization is passing through a deep contradiction, where on one hand AI and other artificial technologies are being developed to improve human well-being, convenience, and capability, while on the other hand those very artificial elements—such as processed food, chemicals, and artificial lifestyles—are slowly weakening human health, mental balance, and even life expectancy. AI was originally created to serve as a helper to humans, reducing effort, saving time, and solving complex problems, but the modern economic system, the desire for control, and the pursuit of profit have turned the artificial from a means into a goal. As a result, machines are becoming more efficient, faster, and more stable, while humans are becoming physically weaker, mentally stressed, and increasingly confused about the meaning of their own existence.
This situation gives rise to two dangerous possibilities: either humans will try to overcome their biological limitations by integrating machines into their bodies and minds—effectively becoming “cyborgs”—or they will gradually lose their human essence by handing over decision-making, creativity, and purpose to machines. However, history and philosophy also suggest that after every phase of technological excess, humanity seeks balance again. The most sustainable path forward is one in which AI and artificial systems remain tools in human hands, while conscience, ethics, nature, and human relationships remain at the center of civilization. If the artificial remains a tool and humans remain the goal, technology will be a blessing; but if convenience and control become the new religion of society, then this path will lead not to progress, but to the slow loss of humanity itself.
