Duolingo has over 130 million monthly active users globally. In India, the user base numbers in the millions; however, less than 1 percent are paying subscribers.
“In India, there’s a real reluctance to pay for the app,” the CEO shared. “Worldwide, 9 percent of our monthly active users pay to remove ads. In India, that percentage is well under 1 percent.”

Indians are consumers, paid customers are very less in any application, netflix, Amazon prime.
