Online platforms need to start evaluating if their services put users at risk of illegal content by 16 March 2025, or they will face financial penalties as the Online Safety Act (OSA) comes into effect.
Ofcom, the regulator responsible for enforcing the UK's internet safety law, released its final guidelines on how companies should handle illegal online material on Monday.
Platforms have three months to conduct risk assessments to identify possible harms in their services, or they may be fined up to 10 percent of their global revenue.
