• It was also an opportunity for the 50th year of G7 (first meeting held in 1975) 
• It was the second host of G7 by Kannaskis (first happened in 2002)

🔥 Major results of summit
1. War and Global Security
• G7 demanded to reduce tension in the Israeli -Iran struggle and refer to Israel's right to self -defense.
• Canada announced a military assistance of C $ 2 billion to Ukraine.
2. Current disagreement • U.S. President Trump left the summit a day earlier, which affected the consent on Ukraine and weapons.
3. Digital and Technical Invitation • Priority was given to subjects like AI Regulation, Cyber Security.
4. Climate and Economic Initiative
• Issues like climate change, clean energy, economic inequality were also discussed ,
🧩 Importance for India
• PM Modi accepted the invitation of Mark Carneyy in Canada in February 2025.
• India got the opportunity to focus on global south trend, digital infrastructure and climate finance.
• Some softening was seen in tension between India and Canada - such diplomatic dialogue started again ,
